Ocean Fiber has developed a variety of low cost "last-mile" solutions to provide the fixed platform market with a superior alternative to microwave. The fiber optic cable can be brought up to the platform in a variety of methods, including existing J-tubes, dedicated risers that are ROV or diver installed, as well as other advanced wireless solutions from nearby "communication hubs". Working with the ROV industry and various government contractors, Ocean Fiber has developed a low-cost, fiber optic last-mile connection that utilizes the latest in "thin fiber" technology and ROV installation methods.
